Director

Darren Sowerby

Darren is a director of Trafalgar Insurance Brokers Ltd. This recognises his tremendous effort's in the relatively short time he has been with us.

For the previous 10 years Darren had worked for one of New Zealand's largest insurers, providing advice on risk and insurance to a large and varied range of clients in commerce, industry, horticulture and farming throughout Nelson, Motueka and Golden Bay.

Darren already holds a Diploma in Business studies and a Certificate in Management but sees gaining further knowledge and qualification as an ongoing and necessary part of being able to provide clients the best advice. He is a Senior Associate of the Australia and New Zealand Insurance Institute.

Director

Paul Robinson

Paul has been in the insurance industry for 17 years, having a strong background in professional liability risk advisory work within the legal and accounting professions at a corporate level while with one of the world’s largest insurance and risk advisory firms. His expertise also extends to directors & officers and other specialist liability product lines.

In 2001 Paul started RIS Insurance Ltd in Auckland which focused on professional indemnity insurance and risk management for professionals New Zealand wide. 

RIS Insurance Ltd has now merged with Trafalgar Insurance Brokers Ltd following his relocation to Nelson.  Paul has been appointed a director of the firm. 

RIS Insurance will continue to operate as a wholly owned division of Trafalgar Insurance Brokers Ltd.  This strengthens Trafalgar’s nationwide direction and their focus in the largest commercial centre of New Zealand.

Paul is by qualification a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) requiring continuous education to ensure that his skills are maintained at a high level to support his widely recognized specialist skills. He is also an Associate of the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ).
